Ireland striker Evan Ferguson is considering leaving Brighton & Hove Albion in January after failing to get regular playing time.
Football Insider reports that Ferguson is quite disappointed with his situation at head coach Fabian Herzeler’s Brighton & Hove Albion in the 2024-25 season and is considering leaving the AMEX in the middle of the season.
Ferguson’s missed the first three games of the 2024-25 season with an ankle injury but has now returned to full fitness, with the 20-year-old striker having played just 254 minutes in eight Premier League and Carabao Cup appearances.
For this reason, Ferguson plans to leave Brighton in the January transfer window, despite extending his contract with the club until 2029, having previously attract interest from several big clubs before falling silent due to his performance.
From Herzeler’s Register ufabet perspective, it’s understandable. As veteran striker Danny Welbeck has scored six Premier League goals this season and continues to be a regular starter. With Joao Pedro and Jorginho Rutter likely to be options ahead of Ferguson.
And the incoming return of Joao Pedro from injury harbours further threat, as the Brazilian bagged 3 goals in 6 games before a hamstring injury derailed his season.
The bulk of his action this term has come on the international stage with Ireland, where he has hit one goal in four Nations League starts.
Ferguson is under contract at the Amex Stadium until June 2029 after penning a new deal last year, so it will cost a pretty penny for rivals to snap him up.
Ferguson wants to remain in the Premier League.
