Spanish La Liga side Girona have agreed a loan deal for goalkeeper Pau Lopez from French Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille football with an option to buy.

That left Lopez looking for a new club, with the first attempt at negotiations possibly being with Italian Serie A new boys Como. But the deal fell through when the other side opted for veteran Pepe Reina. 

After some time, the Spanish goalkeeper finally found a place in Girona. A team playing in the Champions League group stage, on loan for the entire 2024-25 season. With an option to buy outright for 6.5 million euros, without obligation. The Catalan team will cover all the wages.
